Jodie Flannery is one of the main characters of Disconnected. She's a 33 year old computer programmer and Mark Campbell's best friend. She loves, is amused by, and despairs for Mark in pretty much equal measure.
Jodie is married to Richard, who is not completely okay with the friendship between his wife and Mark. Jodie knows this, but doesn't care. She's got more important things to worry about than jealousy.
It is entirely possible that Mark was once in love with Jodie, but never had the guts to tell her.
