The Church of the Scorched Earth is a nod to Duran Duran's Union of the Snake video, while Kip Caprini's yacht is a nod to their iconic Rio video. The strip club that Sergio Sarmento takes Laurie Sparks to is named RIO. And while Laurie Sparks circa 2014 is not Nick Rhodes circa 1984, he probably looks a whole lot like him.
